The Episcopal Youth Community of St. Paul’s parish is an active group of 10 – 15 young adults, 6th – 12th grades. They meet every Wednesday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. with dinner, the weekly lesson from the “Weaving God’s Promises for Youth Groups” curriculum, discussion of the topic, and a fun activity. The youth also participate in other activities:
– Happening – a spiritual retreat for 9th – 12th graders, led by youth. In 2018, St. Paul’s had the most youth involved of any parish in the Diocese.
– The 10th annual Homelessness Awareness Sleep – Out, which was held to raise money for Operation Homes.
– Build-a-Bear activity where Christmas bears are made and donated to Operation Homes.
– Homemade fleece blankets are made and boxes of toiletries are collected to give to Operation Homes.
– Annual Mission Trips to places such as Dungannon, VA, Buffalo, NY, and Franklin, PA where youth spend a week in the summer helping local residents with home repairs, painting, and other needs.
– Additional yearly activities include the Pilgrimage at Trinity Cathedral, a car wash Fundraiser, Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, Cinco de Mayo dinner, Lenten lock-in, and helping with various children’s activities.
