Thanks to everyone who came to church prepared to picnic! Even though it was wet and windy outside, Mark Hansen, Paul Bunner, and Rick King grilled our hotdogs and hamburgers (and veggie burgers), which Sherry King and Susan Bunner organized the side-dishes in the kitchen. So after worship, we had a great in-door potluck luncheon.
Thanks, too, to Ray and Vicki Sizemore who contributed our dessert, a wedding cake made by Hannah Rucinski in honor of the blessing of the Sizemores’ daughter’s and son-in-law’s marriage at the 10 a.m. Eucharist. Stefanie and Michael Tolar were married at Grace Alliance Church three weeks ago, but asked to have their marriage blessed in our community as well, so that was done today.
The surprise gift to the rector of an afghan made by all members of our two knitting circles also made the day special.
On the church’s front lawn, the parish children enjoyed jumping around inside a large inflated “Finding Nemo Bouncer” from Inflatable Images, which was arranged by Heather Coyle who works for the company.
