Thanks to all who are baking pies for, or have volunteered to work at, the Band Concert Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 23, 2010.
For those baking – please make fruit pies rather than cream pies as these hold up better in the heat and go better with ice cream. Please do not bake brownies! For some reason, brownies just don’t sell very well. Bring your pies to the church kitchen on Friday by 4 p.m. (unless you are working the ice cream social, in which case you can bring them with you when you report for duty). Also, please label your pie indicating what sort of fruit is in it – and if you want your pie tin returned to you, please put an identifying label on the pan; a small crew will be at the church at 4 p.m. to cut the pies and sort them type.
For those volunteering – if you can assist with the cutting and assorting at 4 p.m., please report to the church kitchen by then. All others, please be there by 5 p.m. to help load vehicles with tables, chairs, various pieces of equipment and supplies, and (of course) the pies. We will transport everything to the square between 5:30 and 6 p.m. and, hopefully, be set up and open for business at 6:30 p.m.
