On Sunday, June 26, 2011, as St. Paul’s Parish has done for many years, we will host the brethren of Medina Lodge No. 58, Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, as they worship together with us at the 10 a.m. service. The lessons for the day will be those of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. Modern Masons’ lodges are jointly dedicated to St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist; twice each year Masons worship together – on the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, June 24, and on the Feast of St. John the Evangelist, December 28 (or the Sundays closest to these dates).
Following the 10 a.m. Eucharist, there will be a reception in honor of Fr. Eric Funston who celebrated the 20th anniversary of his priesthood anniversary on June 21. This will also be a sort of going away party for the rector who leaves for his sabbatical in England, Ireland and Scotland on Thursday, June 30.
