Oberlin Choristers is a community-based choral program for children Kindergarten through twelfth grades. Based in Oberlin, Ohio, the Choristers draw most of their singers from northern Ohio, particularly Lorain County. The Choristers train children in choral music and vocal performance, provide them with an opportunity to improve their vocal and social skills in a variety of choir settings, and give children an opportunity to perform in concerts both close to home and in some of the world’s greatest musical venues. It is the Choristers mission both to provide an intense and enjoyable musical training program and to create in its singers an appreciation for the arts and the importance of vibrant arts programs in the community. Performing at St. Paul’s Parish will be the Choir which will tour Ireland in June-July 2011. This concert is a fund-raiser for the tour.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. on May 20 with a pre-concert talk by director Katherine Planck. A $10 donation at the door is requested for admission.
